Student loan and WTC (self employed)

I have just been accepted on an open university course for a BA HONS in illustration, but im also just about to go self employed.
I will be on a low income, as i will be trying to sell my art work in any way, shape or form, whilst being a stay at home home too, (needing to become self employed and go onto WTC to stop my benefits from being capped)
Will i still be able to get a student loan if im self employed and getting WTC ?
thank you.

Provided that you don't already have a qualification at degree level, you can get a loan for the fees whatever your financial situation. There's no maintenance funding available for the OU because it's part time study.
You need to be aware of the changes that are coming in regarding Universal Credit for those making only a small amount of income from self employment.0 -
Hi, thank you for your advice, i have not studied previously at qualification level, and didnt realise student loans where not based on my financial situation, so thats great news!
The course can actually be done full time at a minimum of 30hrs a week for 3 yrs because its an accredited qualification ba (hons) (apparently its the only online course which offers accredited qualifications as its done through the university of Hertfordshire) so i will have to find out if im entitled to any other help? i will also try googling about the universal credits, thanks again

Sorry, I left a bit out which I've altered now to read "at degree level".

If this is the course, it says that you can apply for the fee loan but not the maintenance loan.
