Employment Tribunal Statement Help

Hi all
Can someone help please! My other half is taking his previous employer to a employment tribunal and has to write his statement. What should go in his statement, should it be a brief outline of the chain of events etc?
Also we have sent his previous employers a letter stating which douments we will be referring to but not received their letter 2 weeks after the deadline date, should we chase this up with them?
Thanks in advance

His statement should be detailed, and should contain any and all relevant information relating to his claim that he himself witnessed, which in practice will be the vast majority of it. Effectively, it should say what happened in the order in which it happened, and should be as clear as possible. When referring to other people use their full names for clarity, and if you refer to direct quotes make sure that the quotes are written down accurately, including swear words if applicable. Don't try to make the statement sound complex by using technical words; there is no need for that. Just include all information about the claim in as clear and detailed a manner as possible."MIND IF I USE YOUR PHONE? IF WORD GETS OUT THATI'M MISSING FIVE HUNDRED GIRLS WILL KILL THEMSELVES."0

As to the documents not received
Send an email and letter to the employer and copy the email to the tribunal.
Dear [Name]
Further to the directions of the employment tribunal of - -/ - -/ - - - - it appears that you have not complied with orders for document disclosure. I therefore invite you to forward your relevant documents to me by return and in any event within seven days of the date of this letter, failing which I will apply to the tribunal for an order.
Yours Sincerely
When sending an email to the tribunal always quote your case number in the subject box, for example, in this case-Hope this helps1234567/2013 Document Disclosure0 -
Hi all
Thanks for your help. He has started his statement and I have spoken to the ET who advised to e-mail them regarding the document not received, also the date has passed when he was supposed to receive the bundle so now the ET know that they have failed to comply with 2 of the items on the list.
Pilly57, will use that template and send it to them.

Hi Tracey.
If they don't comply after 7 days let me know and I'll create a template for your application to the ET.
Good luck.0 -
I wonder if you would find this helpful? https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/1462615Ex board guide. Signature now changed (if you know, you know).0

The statement should be in numbered paragraphs and large enough print to read without squinting! If you refer to a document, the document number should also be quoted. As you have not yet received the bundle, you should just put (page .....) and then insert the page number later when you have the bundle.
The statement will look something like this....
1 My name is Joe Bloggs
2 My address is 7 Any Street, Any Town
3 I was employed by [name of former employer] as a [job title] from [date] to [date] when I was dismissed.
Or if the role changed during the employment you might say
3 I started work for [employer] on [date] as a [job title]. During the course of my employment I was promoted/my role changed, and my final role with the company was [job title] which I held on [date] when I was dismissed
4 I believe my employer's decision to dismiss me was unfair.
5 The events leading to my dismissal and my reasons for stating that the dismissal was unfair are set out in the following paragraphs
6 carry on and set out everything in date order using short sentences and small paragraphs
when you have said everything you wish to say, finish like this
I confirm that the contents of this statement are true to the best of my knowledge and belief
Signed.................................... (Mr Name Employee)
Dated......[write date here].........I'm a retired employment solicitor. Hopefully some of my comments might be useful, but they are only my opinion and not intended as legal advice.0 -

Is this the same sort of thing referred to as a 'written statement of the evidence' in my CMO and timetable.
cheers

Yes this is a written statement of evidence. The claimant should prepare a statement in this form, and if there are any witnesses, their evidence should also be presented in the same way.
