Using Nationwide Debit/Credit Card Abroad (Spain)

Hi All, First post - please be kind!. Going to Spain in a few weeks time, and planning to make use of my Nationwide Flex-account Debit and Credit Card(s). In order to get the best return of my money, my understanding (from reading from various locations) is: For Withdrawals - best to ONLY use the Debit Card. For Payments…

Along wth others, I've noticed the NW (VISA) rate this year has sometimes been marginally BETTER than the interbank rate! Could this be due to the fact that transactions are converted from local currency to dollars (VISA's home) first and then into Sterling?
