Advice needed (House sale/Survey)

As buyers we would be very cross that you had let us pay out a load of fees and then gone back on your agreement and put the house back on the market as we asked for the house to be taken off the market once our offer was accepted which our vendors have done. If you start playing games you could lose the sale.
I would try your Solicitor/Estate agent again for more info.
And as a vendor, i would be very cross if there was no evidence of the buyer actually getting on with it. The longer there is nothing happening, the more likely nothing will happen.
Buyers do mess about- our first 'buyer' put in a low offer then insisted he would only proceed if we left all white goods. Fine, we needed a sale as we had to move for OH new job and were going into rented. Told him about the works on the house for underpinning. Still ok. Moved, bought new white goods, wait til after Christmas then he pulled out as the building insurance quote was 'too expensive' (and the figures quoted for 50% again on what we paid so no idea where that came from). Leaving us with two sets of the white goods.
The other buyer put in a reasonably offer, was willing to make a small contribution for the white goods but didn't want a survey, fine, cash buyer, their perogative and were made aware of the underpinning despite EA's reticence to do so. They arranged for a gas check and boiler service at their expense.
They were buying as a trust which made life a little more complex but still fine. Until we went away on holiday thinking all enquiries were done and we might have to ring to give authority to exchange. But no, there was a call from the EA saying they wanted to drop the agreed price because, guess what, the building insurance quote was higher than current place (well yes, it's been underpinned, it will be). Price drop was equivalent to 10 years of the extra on the building insurance. We met them half way on the provision they got on with it.
Oh, and then I had to go down and have the gas cooker disconnected and removed because they were moving their learning disabled daughter in and were worried what would happen with it.0 -
Ok this is how ours as gone;
Family buying ours offer placed and accepted end of January - all paperwork sent to solictor, they had mortgage in principle, survey carried out 18th march, mortgage took longer than expected to gain as they were away for one week and there mortgage advisor away for another, mortgage offer recieved 19th March.
Our purchase, offer accepted first week in feb, survey paid within a few days of this and they called for appt to survey a day later, which we had delayed until our buyer started hand in pocket to buy ours, our survey done 18th march also and offer recieved 19th march.
So we are now online with our buyers mortgage in terms of dates.
I don't believe there is anyway of you obtaining proof a survey as been paid for and do believe you are being a little impatient, I would be extremely upset if I had paid for a survey (you can't prove otherwise) and then decided it was taking to long and decided to put the house on the market, unless you are told otherwise the purchase is still going through!
I will add that even though my survey was completed on the 18th I am still yet despite calling every day to have recieved the homebuyers report, which of cause is delaying further and we have been told yesterday our buyer needs to complete end of may, which is wonderful and I look forward to exchange in the coming weeks0 -
