    yes mate, simples.
My only issue at the minute is that my BTCs are held in my localbitcoins wallet and I'm not sure if that is secure.
I'm probably going to punt in for another few coins later in the week.

Being "non-techie", the security is one thing I'm concerned about as well.

I haven't yet worked out how to secure my coins either.

All this wallets and encryption stuff is really confusing.

But either way it's nice to be along for the ride, I'm sure you'll agree.

Hoping that if it is indeed a bubble, that I'm in before burst and can get out just the same!

You can already turn a pretty profit buying on local and selling on ebay.
30% gross so after fees 20% can be had assuming you avoid paypal (which you have to as it's against T&Cs).

Worth it maybe to improve your holding at reduced liability..

    Don't start trading now mate.

You'll end up in all sorts of bother.

Hang on to what you've got and just buy on the dips if you've got a few quid to spare.

(and there could be some BIG dips coming up)

    interesting statement...

Why would you end up in all sorts of bother?

I'm not on about wholesale buy and sell, more like a few 0.1btc sales at silly prices to those who can't be bothered to research or go through with MTGox.

Still if you have advice I'm more than willing to listen, you've seen me right thus far

You "couldn't be bothered" a couple of days ago.

You wouldn't have liked it if I took the p155 out of you then would you?

You carry on trading if you want but all I meant was that trading currencies is a risky game and as a new entrant like yourself it's easy to get carried away.
All of a sudden, smarter people than you or me decide to go for the kill and before you know it you're wiped out.

    Bitcoin is in a bubble.
Recognise that and just be careful.

I think I'll sit tight then and buy the odd coin during the dips

nice one, as I said you saw me right so far so I'm happy to get back to just having a bit of fun with it

I should add at this point, mainly because reading back from some of my post last night that it looked to all intents and purposes that I was looking to take advantage.

By "couldn't be bothered" I meant those that didn't want the hassle of setting up accounts and separate wallets and the like, more like those who want to hold a little bit "just in case", say 0.1 or 0.25 BTCs.

As it is I'll sit tight as I said above, see if it dips back down to £50/BTC or something like it and punt in for a half dozen more maybe.

thanks for your help Dryhat, Local bitcoins was a revelation and a doddle to use :)

  • Bitcoin at the moment is like a large flock of birds all landing in a big tree at the same time, then a little boy throws a stone and they all fly away.

The little boy throwing a stone is the system getting Cyprused.
