Boiler leaking - best option?

My Worcester 'greenstar' boiler is leaking, a drip every few seconds, so I've turned it off for now. I'm no good myself with such things at all, so what is my best option? I'm not well this week, sowhereas I'd normally try to find the best value solution, right now I just want it fixed properly and asap and don't mind paying accordingly - but still don't want to get ripped off obviously - any company recommendations?

If you google it, there are numerous companies like BG who say they can repair 'from £79' and will come to give you a quote, but presumably most people would be so desperate they'd just accept any quote?

I thought about using MyBuilder, but the range of results I've got from having previous jobs done this way (electrical, decorating etc) have been from 'excellent' to 'I'm not even convinced he'd ever done this before'...

All help gratefully received at a time when I'm feeling well below my best. :(

Without knowing where it's dripping from it's impossible to say who you might need to get in to sort it.

Photos would be the best way to get help.

What has the boiler been doing recently any odd noises or the need to top up system pressure?
Ask to see CIPHE (Chartered Institute of Plumbing & Heating Engineering)

One area of MSE forum suggests checking my home insurance in case I'm already covered for this - but their documents are so confusing. It was a pretty cheap policy, with Smart People Budget, so I doubt it. :/

The leak is from the metal rail on the right hand side at the back of the boiler, but it's obviously dripping down from somewhere else inside the boiler workings. It's not completely transparent like water, it has some white in it. I've not needed to top up the pressure recently. I did think when I saw it dripping that it was making odd noises, but was that just because I was looking for them, having noticed the drip?

I know you're going to say 'what sort of noises', I'm going to sound stupid by saying I can't remember - I'm so unwell I can barely think this week.

Does any of that help? Probably not. Am I being stupid (financially or otherwise) if I simply call the BG emergency repair line?

EDIT: Give me 5 mins and I'll try to link to a photo.

    Does this link work?

I'm below the wall-mounted boiler, looking up at the bottom of it, and the drip is on the right hand side towards the back. It is dripping every few seconds, so had built up quite a puddle of water, though not enough to 'trip' the boiler, as it hadn't yet shut itself down, I turned it off myself. I've no idea how long it's been doing that. :/

no your link doesn't work, but if it is a pic of water dripping out of the bottom of the boiler then that isn't going to help us anyway
I'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.

You get no BS from me & if I think you are wrong I WILL tell you.

Very strange I also have a Worcester green star combi boiler which is dripping every 10 secs or so, more so when it changes over from rads to hot water, boiler is nearly 3 years old, had new heat exchanger fitted just b4 1 year.

What type of 'engineer' did you choose? When I go on websites like Mybuilder.com, they list gas engineers, heating engineers, plumbers etc, I'm not sure what to ask for... :/

Will be interested to know how you get on today - good luck :)

Please try now - I had the settings wrong. It may or may not help, but the first response above said it might, so I obliged. Someone who knows the unit well might have an idea of specifically what parts are above that drip.

So could he fix it there and then? Was it expensive? Who did you use?
