Zoopla & Rightmove estate agents cheating!

I have my house up for sale with a local estate agent and have been looking on Zoopla & Rightmove for properties in Scarborough. Both sites supply newly added properties, which appear in lists. Zoopla in particular also has history on when a house was first marketed. This past week 3 local estate agents have re-listed ALL their properties! This has wiped out all past history i.e. when a house was originally listed, amount of viewings, viewings in the last 30 days, in Zoopla's case. I have contacted both Zoopla & Rightmove with this information. Zoopla responded by saying basically when the properties are uploaded, it depends on which software etc they use. In other words, the estate agents do as they like. I pointed out that they are clearly misleading members of the public, which seemed not to matter!! Both websites are an absolute con. Am at a loss as to what can be done, even though the 3 estate agents now get priority over anyone else. I assume this is happening everywhere, so I would advise buyers to be aware the information on these sites is clearly untrue.

If both sites are 'an absolute con', then what have you been conned out of?0

What a complete and utter non-issue0

This happens all the time and has done for a long time.
Estate agents also don't remove house when they are sold. A house I completed on 7 weeks ago is still on Rightmove as SSC.
So what!0 -
Both sites rely on their members uploading the information. They are not responsible for the descriptions agents provide, or anything else.
You as a punter have to use the sites simply as an easier way to identify possible properties of interest, and then contact the seller, or agent, involved.
The alternative is to check the sites of each and every agant in the area one by one.
Either way, you still have to contact the seller/agent for more detailed info, to confirm availability, and to arrange a viewing.
Have a little gumption!0 -

Actually, you are wrong. Rightmove have rules which the agents have to adhere to. I queried with my agents why some properties appeared in email alerts as being reduced in price but mine did not. They have to be reduced by > 5% for this to happen. However, agents remove the listing and then reinstate them to make them appear as a new listing.
My online agent told me they have to adhere to the rules more closely than other agents because their entire revenue stream comes from these websites rather than having a book of business or a listing in the window on the highstreet.0
