Hi, After settling my IVA through F&F settlement last June my completion certificate is finally here!! I am extremely happy!

Does anyone know where I go from here? Do I need to now try and sort my credit file out with experian?

I know that my IVA will still remain on my file for a while yet but I just wondered if there was anything I should be doing in the mean time.

Thanks,

Congrats on getting cert. I got mine a few weeks back after F&F in June last year. I too was wandering about credit clean up etc. I have taken the first steps by getting one of the higher interest rate credit cards, using it for petrol and then paying it off at the end of the month. Not letting the interest kick in. I am still too scared to even apply for my credit scores from one of the main companies but did feel a little better when I was accepted for the credit card without any issues. i wouldnt mind but i dont really need credit after the last three years i have certainly learnt to live within my means. One of the things which I will be doing in the very near future is to send a copy of my cert to the big 3 credit scoring agencies asking them to ensure my IVA states satisfied. Once this is done i will give it a month or so then apply to one of them for my scores!!!!
  • Hi SG_28, get a £2 report from Experion etc to check your status, i am still waiting for my cert and have started the cleanup as best i can , got a Vanquis card last month, grabbed my ba*%s and used it to put £20 of petrol in car only today, will run to bank to pay card as soon as its in to boost my ratings.

Thanks guys, I will do the same. Wish me luck, I am dreading looking at my credit file but I know it needs to be done!!

So it Vanquis the best credit card to apply for? I think I will do the same and only use for petrol to build my credit rating. I said I would never get one again but if it help to boost my rating then I will.

Thanks, I will do. I am about to move house though, will this make any difference? I am going to notify my bank about the change of address today.

I have been looking at a Cash Plus Card today? Does anyone have one of these? I wonder if they really do improve your credit score.

Hello, was just wondering if anyone knows the answer to my question above?
  • Hi SG_28, is the Cash Plus Card a pre-pay one? if so i don't think it will help in the rebuilding of credit. I would suggest one of the Vanquis or Capital One. The interest will be very high so if you do get one use it for Fuel and pay it off straight away. This will help re-building but it will take time, you are marked once a month on your credit scoring to show if you made a payment and on time. Hope this helps
