It doesn't, really.
But tickets booked through business travel services can be set to be released to any cardholder, not just the payment card.A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.0 -
For future occasions:
Either buy vouchers (I use red spotted hanky). The ticket can then be collected with the code and any card.
Or simply transfer the cost of the ticket using online banking and let the rail user buy their own.
Be careful, as for East Coast at least it cannot be any card you pick up the tickets with - it has to be the card you paid with.0 -

Again, not for East Coast. We use business travel services in the company for business travel and they now warn you that you can only do it for the card you book. Seems crazy as the tickets don't have a name. But as the first reply states, they are trying to safeguard their security , rather than yours!0 -

From RSH's website...How do I collect my ticket from the train station, if I have paid for my tickets with e-vouchers?
If you have paid for your tickets entirely using e-vouchers you can collect your tickets from the self service ticket machine at the train station using any debit/credit card together with your order confirmation number for your tickets.0 -

So why the need to insert a card at all ?0 -

You can specify the piece of ID that is associated with the p@h ticket, and it can be a driving license, credit card, passport or other item. All they want is a means to prevent arbitrage in AP tickets (ie, you buy a stack of them on the day they're released and then sell them later). An example is the Gatwick Express terms and conditions:
Indeed, which is why I mentioned ID and not the card it was bought with, though I shouldve made that a bit clearer.p00hsticks wrote: »So why the need to insert a card at all ?
It is weird but the card just sets the programme running to go to the next screen to enter the ref number. IIRC it was just the way it was set up."If you no longer go for a gap, you are no longer a racing driver" - Ayrton Senna0
