estate agent too keen?

went to view a place, liked it, although a little small, told the estate agent this but also said was not discounting it on this fact. he then sugested that the price it was up for (130s) "was I looking at 120s" he then offered to find out a few extra things I asked him that he didn't know the answer to. he then rang me back 20 mins later and left a message. I didn't get back to him over easter as I was away, I then got a phone call this morning with the details I had asked about. he then suggested a price 10k less than asking and said they'd probably say that was their lowest offer. he then rang back 15 mins later to say he'd spoke to him and it was. now I haven't even suggested a figure , or said I was looking at putting an offer in. and hes talking about 2nd viewings.
having never done this before, are estate agents normally like this?

Sounds like exactly the type of agent I'd want if I were selling, in terms of enthusiasm and activity.

He won't get paid until the house sells. He has a vested interest in selling it for his client quickly, and for a price acceptable to the seller, so that he can get paid.

Some can seem pushy, but it's in his best interest and also that of the person he's selling for.

ok cool, I get that. I was just a bit bewildered he kept telling me it had been on the market for a bit (surely you'd keep schtum about that) and that he seemed to be dropping the price without seeing if I was gonna offer high on it ( I wasn't but he doesn't know that)

From my experience (viewed around 50 properties but feels like so much more), they vary greatly. One that's on the ball is certainly better than one that never gets back to you. Too pushy isn't good either though.

if he has said he thinks they wil reject an offer below that, duz that mean I should just walk away, coz I was looking at a much cheekier offer than that.

If you like it, 2nd view it and put in an offer which you think is reasonable regardless of why price the ea suggests, a property is only worth what someone is liking to pay for it.

The worst that can happen is they say no on the offer and ask for your reasoning as to where you got your value from I.e, new windows, kitchen etc etc. who knows they may accept, you don't know unless you try!
