Firstly, it is NOT A FINE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Of course you don't pay it, but please stop taking the mickey and using another firm's car park for free as if you have a right to it. You don't, if you work in another shop you can't just dump your car for (possibly) over the allowed hours at Morrisons car park.

Same advice as I just gave to 'bondylad'smum':

    https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/4529569

Lots of links for you to read there.

Your choices are to ignore all the letters (all shown in one of the links!), or to challenge the legality of the fake PCN and appeal to POPLA as well (with our help to make it a strong POPLA appeal).

DO NOT REPLY TO ANY PRIVATE MESSAGE YOU MAY GET ABOUT THIS AND DON'T GIVE ANY MORE DETAILS (IN FACT I WOULD REMOVE THE NAME OF THE RETAIL PARK FROM YOUR POST). JUST TO LET YOU KNOW THAT PARKING EYE HAVE PICKED ON A HANDFUL OF 'IGNORERS' TO TRY A SMALL CLAIM AGAINST THEM IN COURT. HENCE WHY I SUGGEST NO DETAILS HERE AND I RECOMMEND APPEALING IT PROPERLY, NOT IGNORING IT
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

You don't know Swadlincote. Where would you recommend the OP parks the car? Morrisons was also asked to build a walkway to get from the car park to town to get planning permission to build the supermarket.

The newspaper article from the day says the car park is to serve both the supermarket AND the the town centre. http://www.burtonmail.co.uk/News/JOB-BOOST-IN-STORE.htm

    Oh, sorry! :o

I was just doing that dangerous thing of assuming a Morrisons car park was only for Morrisons customers! I should know better seeing as round this way we have several car parks where they are specially for local shoppers as well, in the Planning Consent, to help local businesses.

Apologies to jb007pib, so you are allowed to park there but what then is the time restriction they are trying to impose? Does it match the Planning Consent? Ask the Council...a quick phone call or emailto the Council Planning Dept could prove interesting...

I would appeal the fake PCN and plan a POPLA appeal in due course. Might be fun to deliberately put into the appeal to PE that you were at a local shop (and see if they make the same mistake I did in their reply which would be good to show POPLA!).

No, don't pay. But don't ignore Parking Eye either. Go to https://www.pepipoo.com they have tons of advice on how to handle PE.

I also received a 'fine' from Parking Eye for parking in a retail park car park longer than the free period. . My work (RK) has been receiving letters which I advised to ignore. They have now sent a letter from Debt Recovery Plus which I believe to just be a part of the PE ring.

The rest of my message has been edited out and shall be posted as a new thread as advised. I left the above because it may be of relevance to the OP

Rather than start a new thread I thought I'd contribute to this one.

Its actually much more helpful to start you own thread - Your situation can easily get confused with the OPs, or get missed altogether.

It also makes it much easier to help you on your own thread.

    Why not edit and repost?
