Asda did the same to me a few weeks back and I didn't get any correspondence either. Mine was for a normal grocery shop and I've been a customer for years.

Are you a new customer to online shopping ?? and was it a largeish amount of alcohol ?? xx

    Hi Katie,

It wasn't a large amount. Reason was because Tesco had posted the wrong price online and so cancelled my order rather than give it me at that price. Just thought it might shed some light on why they cancelled if it was the same brand x

So Tesco realised that they had made another, obvious, pricing error and cancelled the delivery to mitigate their losses?

Think I saw this offer - £6.xx for 1litre Vladivar. Still, they shoudl have conatcted you to say it's not coming.

I actually had the opposite happen yesterday. My wine order was still showing as "between warehouse & store" on the website 75 minutes into the scheduled 2hr delivery slot but it arrived in time.

Yes it was the vladivar vodka.

Tesco make a mistake and instead of honouring the deal, cancel and make customers suffer.

A quick Google shows that the duty on a 70 cl bottle of spirits at 37.5% is £7.41. Tesco must pay this when they buy the bottle. I think that when they sell the bottle to you VAT is added on top of that.

For comparison, Tesco everyday vodka sells for £9.79 for 70cl (£13.99 per litre)

There is No Way Jose (Ivan?) that you are going to get your litre bottle of Vladivar for £6.

Still it's no excuse for them not letting you know that they are cancelling.

A lot of people did according to the posts on HUKD. It was in-store as well as on-line. Somebody posted a pic of the SEL. I think one person said they bought 17 bottles.

In which case I stand corrected.:o

Sounds like a bit of a cockup on the Vodka pricing front in Tesco Towers, hastily withdrawn when they realised what had happened.

How is Tesco not selling Vodka, at a loss, due to a pricing error making "customers suffer"?
