Can't track parcel force number

Yesterday I was told that my 24 hr parcel was sent yesterday and should be arriving today by parcel force. I have been tracking the number since very early this morning and it still says " in progress". That's it. Nothing else. Now we can't go out today because we will have to wait around all day not knowing what time it will arrive. What's the point of tracking if you get no info ?

This is what happens when you buy by mail order, you either have to wait in for the delivery, or if you work, pick it up from a depot/office after work.
In progess prob means it is on the van, you have no chance of getting an eta from Parcel Force, you will need to wait until 6pm.
Sucks, but these are the joys of buying online.0 -
You should only really get tracking information of
"arrived in depot"
and
"out for delivery"

I wouldn't mind going to the depot but its in stoke, miles away from me in Cheshire.0

Well it's 3 pm and still no parcel or tracking update. What's the point of giving you a tracking number when there is no tracking? My wife and I had taken a day off which has been ruined having to stay indoors. Sod's law they will come at tea time. Other couriers give you regular tracking updates to at least give you an idea. I can't even go in the garden in case I miss them knocking. A wasted day.0

Well, it's 6pm and nothing. A lost day we could have had out instead of waiting by the door like lemons. What an appallingly crap service when paid for 24 hr turnaround.
I would like to claim the cost of postage back as I didn't receive it in the time I paid for. Do I claim off the company I bought the item or Parcelfarce ?0 -
The company are responsible for any refunds - the contract is between you and them.0

I have filed a dispute with them through paypal and as I can't afford the time and expense of going to a depot to pick it up. I have told them that I want a refund and they should make a claim for a non delivered parcel. If they want to use a terrible company then they should take the consequences. I will order elsewhere.0
