I'm on a token meter and find it suits me only downside is to always make sure you have enough gas in as if you run out you have to run to shop.
If you have a debt with them they can arrange for you to pay it back at a small ammount each week through your meter.
Another thing would be to phone them and change to the essential tarriff as if on benefits they give you a rebate every quarter.0 -
If you put in a prepayment meter then you pay for exactly what you use, so you will probably pay less than that in the summer but more in the winter. If you have a debt with them and are on benefits they will usually limit the repayment to £5 per week.
As sambo31 said, if you are on benefits if you do have a card meter fitted definately see if you are eligable for the essentials tariff, it works out around 15% cheaper than standard prepayment gas rates.0
