I have just placed an order for a series 8 Samsung smart TV as someone else has already said "if it sounds too good to be true it probably is" I received an email saying I should print off the voucher that they emailed, take it to any pay point to be scanned and pay the money.

I started to get bad vibes as the TV was around £800 less than the best price currently on offer, also no contact telephone number, in my opinion it is a scam and dealing with this site should be avoided at all costs. Thank god I didn't give them any card details.

    Scam: onetoucharena.com

Good course of action otherwise you'd now be out of pocket with little recourse.... that using the pay point method crops up with these scammers..... if you ever buy anything online you need to use a credit card or card that offers fraud protection, otherwise it's a sure way to lose money with a company that you've never heard of.

Also when a TV is £800 cheaper than Amazon (or similar) then it's almost a given to be a mistake or a scam....or a retailer that enjoys losing many hundreds of pounds money!

So hopefully if more sites highlight this scam onetoucharena.com then Google searches will bring potential customers here before getting scammed.

  • My security software blocks access to the site!
  • I have been a big idiot. I would consider myself as being a savvy online shopper for about 10 years, and have completely misjudged this one.

I bought a printer from one touch arena, which was half the price of any other website/shop - that was the first warning sign.
Then I was asked to pay via pay point. I'd never heard of this before, but when I found there was one in our local co-op, I assumed this must be a legitimate method of payment and continued with the purchase. Second warning sign in hindsight, as I don't see how I'll ever get that money back.
Lastly, today my printer was due to be delivered. I received an email saying that to 'protect' me, I needed to send them a scan of my passport, utility bill and credit card. Finally alarm bells started to ring and I searched 'one touch arena scam' which found this forum. If only I had done this weeks ago.

I don't suppose there is any chance, or any ideas, anyone can think of that I can try to get my money back? We've just moved house and are saving for a wedding, so this couldn't have come at a worse time as I still need to by a printer and am now very short of cash to do so!

Everyone can make mistakes. I know i have and sometimes when you are looking for ways to make your money go further we can all make errors that we later look back on and think OMG why did I ????

Just promise you are not going to send them the info they requested.

P.s I would try one of the supermarket outlets. We seem to eat printers in our office and always get recon from Tescos Direct and the like. Think last time it was a Dell laser for less than £30.00.

I have never used a pay point so I can not offer much help but if you paid with a card then you can contact the card issuer. Cash well i think that is going to be a different story.
Happiness, Health and Wealth in that order please!:A

What actual payment method did you use at PayPoint? Credit or debit card?
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

  • Think i've been a mug as well. Paid £50 by paypoint and hadn't found this forum. Just got the 'please supply your , passport, driving licence etc etc' and told them I would not send that type of information to an unknown website. Response "standard procedure, your information will not be used for any other means etc".

Used a debit card so not sure what protection I have.

I know it was stupid but I just didn't think.

  • Hi all, yes we have fallen for the same website, though we used cards to pay so are trying to get our money back at present,
We called Action fraud on 0300 123 2040, I highly recommend that anyone else effected do the same, have details ready, no guaranteed but they may help to catch these fraudsters and also help with advice on getting money back and avoiding future scams.

    Goodluck
