Almost certainly a scam if so.

There are many fake escrow sites about and no easy solution.

I would not want a stranger knowing that I would be turning up at an address they specify having £9k in cash on me.

Arrange with your bank to pick up £9k cash from a branch near the seller.

Drive there in a van (or get a train) and check the bike and documents over.

When you're happy, ask the seller to ride the bike to the bank. Then withdraw the cash and get the seller to sign a receipt and hand over the keys and documents whilst in the bank. If it's a genuine seller they will understand the concerns.

Thanks for all the advice. I ended up flying there with cash in hand. The seller was 100% genuine he even picked me up from the airport.
The bike is like new I rode it back over 2 days and have never been as wet and cold! But at least I didnt loose my dosh to an escrow scam.
