Hotel Booking Misleading

Morning,
I've just booked on line with the Holiday Inn for a two night stay in London, I have been looking for a while for the best rate.
After stating the two nights and the amount of adults for the stay various rooms were shown as avalible and for the rate of £109 GBP. (no where on this page did it say Per night)
Under the impression I was getting two nights for £109 I proceded to booking. I filled in all my details and my card details. At no point did i see a different figure to the £109.
I clicked ok on the reservation cancellation fee as I knew it was non refundable.
After all going through I get an email stating that my final cost is £218 and the room rate is £75 for the fri and £145 for the sat!
I have rung them this morning complaining as the website didn't clearly state £109 average night booking..... I have to wait untill 8am to call and talk to the custmore service team.
Looking back through the booking (starting from scratch) I have found that the room rate is mentioned in the room details (i've stayed in these basic hotels before i know what I'm getting so I didn't check) and its mentioned to the side of the page (3 sections down) as you put your information in but that is it. The website is misleading can I get out of this????
Any advice would be much appreciated

Good luck with your call, I hope you are successful, but I think they would be well within their rights to make you stick with what you have booked.
I've just gone through a test booking, and note the following points:
After selecting your dates, the page that offers the room types available for those dates says "Rates reflect average nightly rate for one room"
After selecting your room the bar on the left has a Your Rate box which states both the average nightly rate and the estimated total price
I didn't go any further than that but the information is all there in front of you as your booking progresses, HI can hardly be blamed if you don't bother to look at it.0 -
Surely it should tell you the total BEFORE you pay??Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
OP, this is entirely your own fault.
At the top of the choose a room page it says :Rates reflect average nightly rate for one room
When you've chosen your room and go through to the next page to book it cleary says: on the panel to the left of the screen:
Average Nightly Rate: £ 141.00 192.0938991280147 GBP

all seems like a genuine mistake - if it's too good to be true...
I'd play on CS being nice and saying that you made a genuine mistake rather than accusing them of misleading you. Probably got a better chance of getting your money backJust started comping - 1/12/08 - keep your fingers crossed!0
