MP600 Canon won't print

I have a newish MP600. For the last 2 days when I try to print a document it says printer offline when it isn't. Have checked all usb connections - all fine and working with other peripherals.
I need to print some documents this morning so if anyone has any ideas please let me know. Bought it from amazon but it's too late for refund and they don't do tech help. I will be calling Canon CS when I can.
If it's the interface between my PC and the printer - although it worked fine when first used - is there anything I can do?

spoke to CS at Canon. They say that their printers are not designed to work properly from a usb hub (?!). I have always run a printer from the hub as only have 2 usb ports.
Also suggest downloading latest drivers from their website.
anyone else got this printer and had any problems?
