Building Indemnity Insurance Question - New Works

Hi There,
Sorry if this is a silly question but I am new here and just looking for some advice.
We have recently moved into our new house and have taken out an indemnity policy to cover works the previous owners have done to the property. They have added a conservatory to the rear of the the house and opened up the entrance between it and the existing dining room (ie no doors fitted as required under regs) the work is structurally sound.
However we are now looking to carry out other works to the house that wil require buiding regs (replastering etc) and we want to ensure that any works we do have the relavent sign off and certificates.
My question is, where so we stand with the indemnity policy and the old works? if the buildings inspector comes out to look at the new works, will he be able to pick up on the conservatory? Will we invalidate the indemnity policy?
Thank you
