Web Developer Course

I was going to start a Web Developer course tomorrow and now I'm not sure.
I bascially want a small web site but haven't a clue how to do it. I have looked tonight at a few things on the net about it and it looks a bit beyond me.
Would it be better to get someone to sort it out for me i.e. get the domain and hosting stuff or whatever else is needed. I was going to do it myself to save some money (as you do), so now I'm not sure.
Is it easy to do?

What are you going to use the website for? If it is for business it would probably be better to get professionals to do it for you.
Could a web developer course benefit you beyond the creation of your own website?0 -
It is for a new business that I have started up yes.TopCashback £1792.63My Little World0

what have you got to lose by doing the course? website building on a basic level is relatively easy.Never put off till tomorrow what you can do today!
Cos if you do it today and like it...You can do it again tomorrow..

If jasmin is offering a service that is to presented "professionally" it may be well worth the expense of getting someone who knows how to do it (and can maintain/update it when or if necessary) at a fair price rather than spend time straight away in gaining the skills - though learning how to keep the site going would be a good thing. It is also important to research how other sites doing similar things are presented - in order to be able to discuss this with the developer.
It also depends on how much jasmin can earn in the time that would be spent on learning and constructing the site - the opportunity cost involved.0 -
It is confusing. The course is free so it's just my time that I am having to put in. I'm just worried that after I put the time in and get the City and Guilds certificate etc that I'm not going to be experienced enough to do a good website as yes it does need to be very professional.
I think I might look into someone sorting it out from scratch for me and still do the course as like you say I could try and maintain it. How much would it cost for someone to sort it all out include get the domain thing etc.TopCashback £1792.63My Little World0
