Should i sign for a damaged package?

I have a package coming tomorrow that has been missing a while, if its damaged should i sign for it?

Its via MyHermes (never use them) and on their site it says that i should but i don't trust them at all.

Inspect it first. If it is reject it and mark the signature document "rejected - damaged". They can then return it to the sender.

If they won't allow you to reject it sign for it and take it but write "damaged" on it and sign and date next to that. Immediately contact the company that shipped it and let them know what has happened and what you have done.

If however you do sign for it and inspect it after taking receipt of it, it does not affect your rights under the Sales of Goods Act. You are entitled to a reasonable period to inspect goods conform to contract.

Your contract is not with MyHermes it's with the seller, do they advise you sign for a damaged package or reject it?
