Second Chance Offer

Hi

I've put an item up for a second chance offer after being let down by the top bidder but I am a bit confused about it. Firstly I sent the second bidder a second chance offer but I have received an email to say that I have had a second chance offer. Does that mean that I've offered one?

Also, it also appears that I am able to offer other people the second chance offer when I only have one item. Does that mean that the first person I offered has refused it? If they do not want it will there be a message or do I just have to wait until the time is elapsed until I can offer it to someone else? Thanks in advance.

You get a copy of the email that was sent to the bidder.

You can send offers to all bidders. Obviously if you only have one item you shouldn't do this more than one at a time.

People don't usually accept these because they will have to pay more than they would have if they had won. From the buyer's perspective it can seem as if a fake bidder outbid them so that the seller sells at their maximum bid.

Although, I've just noticed in the email that its offered at their top price and not the price of the winning bid. That is, £10 less than the winning bid.

The second chance offer is at the under-bidders maximum bid.

I regularly offer second chance offers - as I have loads of one particular thingy to sell and I tell them that I'm just packing the winner's thingy and if they want me to pack one up for them too then I have plenty so it's no problem to do it now. I sell more through Second Chance Offers than i do through the actual sale.
