OK. Then you are not actually 'buying gas from them'. But you are costing them money in metering, reading, billing and network maintenance.
Why not have the supply capped off and the meter removed?
The supply IS capped, it always has been and npower were informed of this when I moved in. I requested an electricity account only, NOT a gas account. npower took it upon themselves to open the gas account, so I have zero sympathy that it is costing them re metering, billing etc etc. It took almost a year for them to stop sending me estimated gas bills, despite repeatedly telling them that the meter was capped. The fact that it is capped does not satisfy npower. They insist that the meter has to be removed which isn't an option given that it is a rented property. I've moved to ebico.
Wywth - the reverse of the letter contains NO information re notification before April -zip, zero, ziltch. If it had I wouldn't have bothered ringing npower or posting here.0 -

Hi onatalux,
Would you like me to take a look into this for you? It may be that if your meter is capped, you won't be charged the standing charge, but I would need your account details to find this out.
I'm over on forumresponse@npower.com if you want to get in touch!

According to the npower rep I spoke to last week, meter removal is the only option open, odd given that I doubt npower own the meter in the first place.
To be perfectly honest npower have been a disaster from start to finish, the sooner we part ways the better. I ended my electricity account with them after being threatened with court action over an "unpaid" bill. The bill had been paid, in full and on time. npower's angry red inked letter was even dated a full week BEFORE the bill had been due for payment. Nobody at npower even had the decency to offer an aplogy.0 -
Adam you are incorrect as the reason for the charges is the mam fee's, that is the rental of the meter.Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0

I'm sorry, but I don't believe you.
Presumably you didn't post a copy as you didn't want to be proven incorrect.
The reverse of the letter includes the new current prices, and the last but one paragraph explains your rights as far as changing supplier goes. :cool:0 -

I don't need to prove anything to anybody.
You don't,... because you can't.
But if you followed my advice you would have got the answer that I presumed you signed up to this site to obtain ... but I am now getting the distinct feeling that was not the purpose of you posting here at all :cool:0
