Leasehold Right To Manage Scheme

Has anyone done this?
Is it worthwhile?
I am currently experiencing increasing fees from my freeholders management company with little explaination for the rise.
There are 4 flats in our block, we all communicate regularly and we are all responsible people with good jobs or own businesses etc.
Is RTM a good cost saving alternative or is it just a headache?
Would love to hear it from the horses mouth so to speak.
cheers

It saves money of agents fees if residents are prepared to take on the headache of self management. be wary that its rarely common sense as there are considerable te4chnicla and leagla reuirements which you will be un aware of.
Based on your other posts the amounts do not see unreasonable save that the reserve fund is woefully low.Stop! Think. Read the small print. Trust nothing and assume that it is your responsibility. That way it rarely goes wrong.
Actively hunting down the person who invented the imaginary tenure, "share freehold"; if you can show me one I will produce my daughter's unicorn0 -
we (6 flats) have just undertaken a right to manage and saved over 25% on our annual service charge even after appointing a new managing agent -- we also found a lot of issues relating to the old managing agents and the way monies had been collected so we have made an application to the LVT -- leasehold valuation tribunal --requesting a refund of many of the previous charges. its really worth looking at! :j0
