Have I the right to a cooling off period?

I signed up online for a monthly membership of weightwatchers. I changed my mind within just a few minutes and emailed to cancel. I got a response saying I will be charged for the first month. I can't find any detail in the T&C about this. Can anyone advise please?

Any cooling period afforded to you by the DSRs is unlikely to apply if the service period actually commences immediately. Think yourself fortunate you're only losing one months payment.0

Thanks Neil. I chose a monthly rolling contract so would not have risked a longer period. I chose to cancel as I wanted to access the website on my tablet but sadly it's software is not compatible0

What tablet do you have. Surely most websites will be available via the tablet's own browser, or is their an App that's not available on your tablet? Thanks Neil. You can cancel if you haven't started the service, have you ever logged on to your account? When you signed up did you access your account, if not DSR does apply.0

The commencement of the service isn't dependent on whether someone has logged in or not.
However they do need to inform them that by the service commencing, they lose their right to a cooling off period.
Companies do occasionally miss out details like this but I'd be surprised if weightwatchers missed this, its a money earner for them. You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0 -

A chargeback on what grounds?
You can't revoke consent for transactions already processed!
Not sure what a chargeback would achieve anyway, they'd simply defend it - and probably successfully.
It's of poor taste to advice posters to blatantly abuse a system to effectively defraud a company of funds rightly paid to them through no fault of their own.0 -
For the sake £11.95 is it worth it?0
