Closing a vanquis account - HOW?!

I had a vanquis account, cleared the balance and wrote to them (registered) asking to close the account Jan 2012.
I continued to get monthly statements coming through showing a credit limit and a £0.14 credit.
I've called them numerous times, the card shows as closed on my credit file but yet the statements keep coming.
I've now moved house and I still keep getting these statements through via redirected post.
They seem unable/unwilling to sort it out, I can no longer log-in online and I do not have the debit card (destroyed it) to pass the security checks via the telephone!
My concern is identity theft / fraud or whatever,, as when my post stops getting redirected the statements will go to whoever now occupies the old house.
Any suggestions please?

ask for the 14p credit back, then it will closeDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0

Thing is Vanquis refuse to offer refunds on credit balances under a certain amount when closing an account.
I continued to get statements for a year after closing mine despite it showing settled on my credit file.
You could always raise a formal complaint stating in settlement of the complaint they put a 14p charge on to the account to zero the balance and stop the statements coming?Cashback Earned ¦ Nectar Points £68 ¦ Natoinwide Select £62 ¦ Aqua Reward £100 ¦ Amex Platinum £48

Generally, if there is a balance on the card either credit or otherwise the account will stay open.
I would write (recorded) to Vanquis and ask them to send a cheque to you for the 14p and close the account.
I had 3p showing on my Santander card and they had to send me a cheque!!!!! i would have thought your situation is the same..DEBT FREE AND PROUD
