Hi
I have never had a tablet in my life (the electronic kind anyway lol), but feel that I might be missing out, as everyone else seems to have one!
I know people can't say whether I actually need one or not, as it obviously depends on what I would do on it, however what do other people use their's for?
Also, I have been looking at a few lower priced models and wondered if anyone had any thought on them at all:
In no particular order they are:
Acer Iconia B1 (7")
Acer Iconia A210 (10")
Sumvision Cyclone Voyager (7 & 10" models)
Archos 80 Cobalt (8")
TIA

Sometimes I wonder...
"why is that frisbee getting bigger?"
...and then it hits me
:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Jesus loves you...A nice thing to hear in church, but a horrible thing to hear in a Mexican prison
:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Light travels faster than sound. This is why some people appear bright until you hear them speak.

I'm afraid I can't comment on the ones you have quoted but I have a 64GB Blackberry Notebook which is in the same price range and I have great fun with that. Like you I felt that I was missing out by not having one. I find that I use it a lot to catch up on the news on the BBC website and downloading radio and tv programmes that I have missed. The advantage is that the speakers are so good that extra speakers or headphones are not needed but of course can be used so as not to annoy others in the room. I also use mine to check my emails and I download a fair number of books from amazon and elsewhere to read to my grandchildren. I have several movies on the playbook and a few albums that I like to listen to when travelling etc. I'm surprised how often I use the camera and I store a fair numbr of pictures on it. Certainly for less than £100 they are a lot fo funI'm Glad to be here... At my age I'm glad to be anywhere!!

I think I am who you might be looking for simply because until last week, I too was in the same position as you. My laptop serves me well so therefore I didn't think I needed anything else. But these damned words "apps" were becoming the vein of my life, because I didn't know what they were.
A fortnight ago I saw Ideal World and they showed this model:-

I asked on this forum if anyone knew anything about it as the price seemed up my street and in any case, it was not to be a replacement, simply an extra. Within no time at all, someone recommended another model, this one:-

they liked it so much, they bought FOUR ! and have served them well. By this time I had placed my ideal world order and told myself if it didn't measure up to my wishes, I'd return it and buy the other one.
Anyway, mine is OK. At forst you need to forget "windows" and the way that works and think "android". It isn't difficult and even I as a mere 73yr old, have caught the bug.
Whilst you will have favourites/bookmarks, gleaned from all over the place, with android, you seek out the app for any favourite and the icon is called a widget. You may be asking "but where do I get them from?". Well on each tablet, there is a library where these can be downloaded for free or paid-for versions.
Just had a thought, maybe I'm boring the pants off you so I will stop almost mid-sentence and await any reply.
The thing is, you need to ask yourself, "what will I use it for?", "do I need it?". My guess is that you won't need it, but you will find a use for it. I have noticed they start up within seconds, unlike PC's or laptops, simply because they don't have things running in the background.This is a system account and does not represent a real person.
