pinnacle studio problems

hi all im try to put a m8's wedding video on to pinnacle 9 it is a wmv file but the programme keeps telling me wmv could not be opened .im thinking i will have to convert it to another format ?can someone advise me how i do this, cheers

How did you get the video on to .wmv in the first place?
Try downloading the latest version of Nero 7 from their website; http://www.nero.com/ena/index.html Nero Vision 4 from within that suite should do the trick.

hi donnie he got it from his camcorder using windows movie maker then saved it to pc .put it on his pen drive so i can download it from there ,i've got lots of photo's and video clips he want's me to edit the stuff and put on to a disc . i have 2 pc's 1 with xp and other vista but pinnacle 9 not compatible

What's wrong with WMM - I've used it several times. Not a bad piece of kit for beginners (especially as mine wass free, don't know if it's free as standard).
I did exactly what the OP's trying to do. Got bits of video from various sources, digital photos, scanned normal photos and put them all together into a nice DVD. Even included music.

I would use it every time (but I've now got Nero!).

There's a cool piece of freeware called wmv2avi which will convert your wmv file to an avi file (I bet you could have guessed that from the name ). Pinnacle will use avi fine.
