Suitable for a newborn?

Hello there,
Seems a silly question, but i cannot contact the seller of this item to check properly. Does anyone know if this soft toy would be suitable for a newborn? I'm worried about the diamante bits, but having not seen it in person, i can't tell if they can be pulled off/come out easily. Would you buy this for a baby? Thank you.

I wouldn't.
Babies are not stimulated by soft toys so something that would stimulate them would be better (think contrasting colours and textures) and even if the diamantes don;t come off, they will be scratchy.
Why can't you contact the seller? That is ringing alarm bells for me.:cool: DFW Nerd Club member 023...DFD 9.2.2007 :cool::heartpuls married 21 6 08 :A Angel babies' birth dates 3.10.08 * 4.3.11 * 11.11.11 * 17.3.12 * 2.7.12 :heart2: My live baby's birth date 22 7 09 :heart2: I'm due another baby at the end of July 2014! :j

I'd buy it and if it wasn't suitable to play with when they're old enough to, I'd put it on a shelf or somewhere as a decoration.0

Babies dont really 'play' for a while so agree with this about buying it as a decoration for the parents.
My other idea though is a baby rattle for the wrist...we had them when mine was a newborn and its the only thing we used to start with as it was cute more then anything

That was first one I searched on ebay but we had winnie and tigger :-)People don't know what they want until you show them.0 -
Tbh there are many soft toys on the market and there will be a selection of ones holding a P. Why take the risk?0

I wouldn't, but would be nice on the shelf instead. Tbh the only soft toy my baby showed any interest for a long time is a rabbit comforter - the type where it's just a square of nice soft fabric with a bunny head.Newborn thread member

Thanks everyone, i have already bought a Lamaze toy, which is great for development, just liked this one for the initial. I may buy it just as a nursery decoration. Thanks again.0
