Tuesday 2nd April 2013 - what small things will you do today ???

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym. :money:

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free. :D

Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important :j

Morning gang :j

Thought I'd start the thread as I am wide awake and raring to go to work :j

On the plus side, it is Tuesday :D

Hugs to those that need them and hi to all newbies :j

Today I have/will:
  • Checked online banking - no change
  • Read papers online and the freebie paper on the train
  • Split ticket to work (saving about £5)
  • Need to make a coffee for the journey as I think it is freezing out there
  • Meals from stores
  • Need to phone the agency to arrange the second interview
  • Aim for a LSD - may even be a NSD
  • Need to have an early night
  • Need to work stupidly hard at work
  • Bite my tongue when it comes to dealing with my twit-ish team leader

Think that's it for me

Take care all

Morning everyone. I don't normally feel the cold, but brrr its chilly with no heating in the house.

Checked online banking, and all is as expected. The dd's which normally go out on the 1st have all gone this morning.

I have a dentist appointment at 9, which I knew about because its on the calendar, but I hadn't factored in when planning my budget. So, not as much cash to throw at the debts as I thought :(

I've made salad for work, and will walk to the dentist and then onto the station, so no fuel costs today. I need to stop off at Aldi for a couple of things on the way home so I'll take carrier bags with me to work too.

Other than that its just all the normal stuff from me.

    Have a great day all
Debt free since December 2015. It can be done

    morning guyes.

sorry to be on a downer but I really can't face work today to the point where tempted to phone in sick (I won't as too much to do plus looks terrible after a long weekend). Just really cannot face doing this job for the nect 30 years - will put me in an early grave but no idea what else I could do/be good at!

Am also well annoyed with myself since after achieving so much fri and sat, the night at friends on sat (with loads of booze) wiped me out and made me depressed for the last 2 days and did nothing! I really think that for me, giving up booze totally is the way to go.

Right, get more positive I suppose. Today I will:

-take dvds back to blockbuster so no fine
-will have to buy lunch as nothing in but will keep it cheap and have dinner from stores
    -free tea/coffee/water/elec at work
-training tonight which is cash but only 7.50 and am sure the endorphins will make me feel better and lift me out of this mood (plus stops me stuffing face for that period and will spur me on re weight loss as have also put back on the 4lbs I had lost!)
-watch stuff on sky box tonight (cannot wait until tomorrow as scott and bailey starts again - love that!)
    - heating down
-will use washing machine on cheaper rate tonight

AND try to stop whinging and thinking woe is me when actually I am bloody lucky to be healthy and have a good job when I know people battling with cancer and the like.
I want to be a writer

    Hi,
Still not feeling too good, though managed to eat some breakfast, so I've got all my jobs out of the way early so I can put my feet up with a hot water bottle, knitting & some catch-up TV for the rest of the day.....well, until I crack, I'm not much of a daytime TV viewer.
Have made bread dough, meals as per this week's meal plans (home made burgers in home made rolls with salad....that's if I fancy one by then, if not, it's 2 for Mr f!), managed to use about half an hour of Economy 7 on some washing & got it blowing outside on the line. Definitely won't be spending anything as still can't venture too far from the loo.......ooooh, lovely, NOT!!
It's so cold, I've lost 2 baby tomato plants to cold damage in the house AND they've been in the warmest room!! Have cloched them all with little recycled clear plastic containers saved from stuff like coleslaw/hummous, etc, & put them on a windowsill above a low radiator to see if I can save the rest of them. I'm quite green-fingered, been growing veg for years, so it's clearly going to be another mad year!
Well, bread-maker is pinging, so will crack on.
    Have a good day, everyone,

    :)

Hi it just means that all meals will be made from what stores you have ie what you've got in your cupboards/freezer/fridge etc rather than buying a sandwich for lunch or takeaway for tea etc

I've been there. I used to work in I.T in the UK but after some initial success in my career I stated to feel I was in a rut.

So in 1999 I sold up and came to Thailand to live (My favourite holiday destination).

Love the place. Make a decent living teaching English, writing for travel guides as well as a little buying and selling (all legal).

Never looked back. I doubt if I will ever set foot in the UK again.
