Rat/Mouse droppings found while house viewing

Ugh.
We had a 'rodent' problem with a prevouis rented house. At first we didnt even notice it but one of the photos we were given at start of damage already thier was a mouse hole!
We lived thier about a year and we put mouse poision down on a regular basis and everytime we thought we was clear of them we would find something 'nibbled' or abit of poop here and thier & it would be a nightmare all over again.
Would def drop the sale.
& as said above for the person who has the occasional one in winter - they are still coming on a regular basis.
Maybe it just depends how big the infestation is idk...but sooo glad to be rid of that house!!.People don't know what they want until you show them.0 -

A long time back, I once had a mouse which had found its way into the rarely used spare bedroom, and chewed its way into the mattress and set up a nest there. So if viewing and seeing mouse droppings under the quilt, give the mattress a look to see if there's more of an infestation.
While we had a cat, the door was mainly kept closed when no guests visiting, so that we didn't need to heat it, saving some pennies. After giving the cat full access to the room (and chucking out the mattress), we didn't have any mice returning.0 -
If the area is generally well kept, local gardens under control, no piles of dumped rubbish etc. I wouldn't see it as a problem. If the house has been unoccupied, it's not surprising somethings taken up residence over the winter. And a good pest control person should get shut of them without too many problems.
Good luck with the rodent proofing though - I've yet to manage it. They can get in the tiniest holes. I'd been mouse free for 8 years but the last 2 winters they've revisited. They do seem to go on their summer hols though, so it's not a continuous battle. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -
Thanks all for your feedback and help...
We finally decided not to put an offer on the house... I didn't want any mouse trouble...
Thanks again0
