Around 6 months ago i was contacted by MKDP regarding a barclays credit card with an outstanding balance of £4000. Ive never had a barvlays credit card so i disputed it and asked for A copy of the file and contract.

So far they have been unable to get the evidence. Every month im just getting a random letter saying they are still workingvwith barclays and are awaiting their response.

I feel they have had plenty of time to provide the evidence and would like to know what i can to to put the matter to rest.

Did you write to them to ask for for the file and contract? It's always best to correspond in writing (or by e-mail) and keep copies of everything.

Also a good idea to send any letters by recorded delivery to prove they've received it.

I would send them a letter just to remind them you're still awaiting proof of the debt as you dispute that you owe Barclays anything, and that you want to make some progress on the matter.

You could send a SAR to both Barclays and MKDP but that will cost you a maximum of £10 (£10 for each company; so £20 in total). They have 40 days from the date they are satisfied as to your identity to respond to your request.
