Hi,
Have been a long time reader of the various boards and this is my first post so please be gentle.
We are in the market for a new car. Was going to go 2nd hand but think we have found a way we can get a new one at the price we are looking for.
Still toying between people carrier (VW Touran, Sharan) and a passat estate.
Wife is pregnant with Twins :T so every penny matters
The touran is afforable with the extra's we want through https://www.jamjar.com. Which is great. But there are so many other firms out there we could save some money.
Has anyone used Jamjar?
So has anyone used the other firms?
Negotiation skills as we are test driving on Sat at local dealership so was going to play them off against Jam Jar
Do anyone know of any firms that don't come up on google?
Thanks all.

Try Broker4cars as on MSE Travel and Transport. You deal entirely with a VW Main Dealer via their fleet sales after application. You even get to see what VW pay the broker on the sales invoice. My car was delivered free, 140 miles, ie no £99 fee or whatever. I did take the driver to the nearest railway station. I tried all Martin's sites and they were by far the cheapest for VW. Pay the deposit by CC and the remainder by BACS. The whole thing was painless and took 3 weeks. Other brokers may be cheaper for other makes. You get free VW breakdown assistance for 1 year as well.0

You need to decide what sort of deal you want then approach the appropriate style of broker....some will sell pre reg's (see page 148-9 of the current What Car Edition of why you should steer clear of anything where the logbook is witheld from you for a no' of months), others sell properly 'used' cars, and others -like us - act as price agents to put you in touch with a normal main dealer and enable you to jump on the back of their volume discount agreement with delivery to you included (so you get the safety net of your dialogue & transaction being all as normal, with a normal main franchised dealer, but get the 'internet' price).
Decide if you want an already registered deal, or a brand new 1st owner deal...then approach as necessary.
Your manuf'r UK car warranty covers you UK-wide..warranty is not not - on new cars- linked to the dealership who processed your order. So you can arrnage to buy it at the cheapest dealer through a good broking agent, then use your local dealer for servicing.
All franchised dealers get the same margin from their manufacturer, but dealers in each area set their discount levels at prices they think their local market can stand..which is why you get different prices from different dealers, essentially.“Official Company Representative

I just bought a pre-reg vauxhall vectra with 200 miles from bestpricecar.co.uk (Hartwells). They have dealerships all over the place. I did everything on phone. The initial price before trade in was competitive with brokers. But I also get well above average trade in value, mats & mudflaps, car tax and tank of fuel. They delivered the car from Norwich to North London as well.
I suspect that with a broker you are unlikely to get such good trade in value as the car is already discounted. I also tried local vauxhall dealer and the prices were rather silly plus would have had to play too many games.
Hartwells were no nonsense willing discuss best price without playing games. I had few niggles as they gave me the wrong reg and I sorted out the insurance on that reg. They paid the cost of the change this.Smile and be happy, things can usually get worse!0 -
