decline letter

I have applied for a credit card before and been declined (think its because i had too much credit from stoozing), on the decline letter they say if you have an further info please forward to ......... , has anyone ever sent in information to have the decision changed?? If so,

1, What information do you supply
2, If it gets accepted does the original decline still go onto your credit report as a decline
3, Are you credit scored twice

I tried appealing, I sent details to show that I had assets (my house) enough to pay them, as the reason they gave was 'too much available credit' and that they were being 'responsible lenders'. So I showed them I was a responsible borrower (even though I'm not really!) so they turned me down again. I think they actually didn't want people who would pay them back, but I wish they'd just say 'Tarts need not apply', to save you the trouble!

Virgin just told my wife, after declining her, that they reviewed her previous card with MBNA, and she was "not a profitable customer". At least they're honest, we borrowed at 0% for a year and then paid it all back, so all is fair in love and war
