Right quick update.
Change of tack for the Armada - maybe a different wind may male it go quicker.
Actually more a mindset to help the DH who is new to this MSE lark, I was reading Crafty's (can't remember the proper name but it was craft something
sorry) diary and there was a mention of 1% so after much trawling and reading I decided this may work for us.
So I split the two targets - one is a savings target the other the MFW target and calculated 1% of each and then set the monthly target to be 3% off each.
This seems to have hit the button with the DH which hopefully means we can plough ahead on getting things done.
Both stand at 0 right now but DH back from Canada tomorrow so can do the money shuffle next week.
GG I understand completly ref only seeing DH at weekends etc and having seperate accounts it works that way for us too.
I just have to get my head around complex Spanish inheritance laws and ownership stuff so I understand the finacial implications of all that.
Oh won a lovely and I mean lovely BBQ just got to work out how to move it around now or do I give it my lil sis as a birthday present?0 -
:mad::mad:
Have changed jobs, am and doing a job that's a higher grade but work wont grade me up, or pay me as such, just quietly fuming it wouldn't have been much but would have covered the change in cost of living. However that doesn't stop the MFW battle ongoing so quick update.
The BBQ :smileyhea has arrived at home and been set up ready for the summer - will be bringing out the good old Floyd on fire for some magical recipes.
Apart from that some nifty fleabay selling of some CS buys (bought for me but sadly or rather frustratingly don't fit - anyone got an extra bosum or two they could loan me:o). Not made a lot a few pence but all good and managed to get some gorgoues fabric to make into erm I dont know but its lovely.
Hmm Wombling front - four locker sets, so that will be cleaning and then spray painting them to match think the 2 x DSS will love having a locker set each, not sure what will do with the other two sets hoping we find a house to move to with a pool so they could be pool lockers?
Still no completion date yet BUT think could be MF on UK property within the next month hurrah !!!! and that means I can push what was being paid into that mortgage onto the other one.
and joys of joys the DH finally has started to manage to get green fingers looks like at lest the cucumbers and citrus trees are making a run for it along with the radishes, tomatoes not so good, but hoping my dad will give him guidance.
will get back into the swing of saying hi :wave:to everyone next week just settling in to new job and have been reasonably blue about it all

Much better week this week,, having calmed down reference the not being paid etcetc have decieded to get on with it all and just pay off the mortgage quicker than before if I can.
On the good news side Mr O's eBay account has been reinstated - there was someone trolling alot of SP accounts and his had been one of them, so we can sell some of the tat that I for some reason moved over there again, hurrah.
My motorbike is beyond economic repair, so up for grabs for parts,, might not make much but gives us space in the garage and some OP hopefully when it goes so thats all good.
Ebaying again this weekend having two things sell surprisingly last weekend so hopefully a few pennies there (want to be at 20% on the kids and 5% on total mortgage by end of June)
Have a VEET wax thingy to trial courtesy of bzzzzz it could be erm painful:eek: and i dont like pain:eek:..... but may save a few pennies whihc can go into the OP pot.
and have had thoughts reference what to do when i move to my home permenatley so things all looking up finally after two hideous weeks.
lovely to see the sunshine and everyone enjoying it today, now off to sneak around everyone elses diaries as I have been MIA for tooo long.0 -
Update.......
MFD for mortgage 1...... 3 Jun 13.
eeeeeeeek
obviously this may mean that another mortgage sneaks up and bites me once have found a house I would like to live in but it does mean everything can concentrate on paying the other one off to put us in a better position - although we have seen one that's worth a squidge in closer detail.....0 -
Exciting times :jA positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

Now MF in the UK..... but still have SP to cut swathes into (6% down and counting) and no closer to finding a new dream home to relish married life in. (found one but not mortgageable and it had a chicken house!!!) Oh well back to the searching for a house and cutting away at the current mortgage.0

GG I was a little nervous to say the least, and now sulking that the house I really liked (lovely ceilings) but had so many problems - no potable water, or hot water etc but the glimmer to be us as not mortgageable. Still going to have a gander in a month at it and then if its truly what we want we will sit and look at what we can offer - they may take it as I think they are unlikely to get too many people even going for a second look. (if only i hadnt watched so many issues of the good life and be determined to have my own orchard, chooks etc we would probably have a house by now - just like doing up wrecks too much)0

Well, thats it now retired and moved to Spain to be with DH. So one mortgage currently (around 25,000 euros) and house hunting right now ( as well as looking for another rental property). However with me retiring it means our income has dropped, however this is week 2 of ´retirement´ and I´m not overly keen so must look towards finding another career path - starting my TEFL course in July but trying to think of other paths, otherwise I may get a few too many dogs in the house.
New plan is to be mortgage free from all properties in 9 maybe 10 years.0
