Just had a chat with my sis reference OPing and she is hard at it too - as she wants to get on with either finding a new job or maybe a new house and renting out the one she has - its part of her penison plan.
Its nice to see she is trying to plan for the future as well.
On my side hmm Oping not enough for an OP yet and having sold a battered broken Iphone that money is going into the kids saving account as that tidies up that requirement for the month.
Went undies shopping on saturday and nothing nada unless I stick a couple of pairs of wolley socks  and maybe Im fussy but I want it to match
So I got distracted by a CS 99p sale and maybe went a little mad and bought 3 pairs of shoes 2 pairs of trousers a couple of dresses a couple of jackets and a couple of tops. those that dont fit I'll eb@y. I'm terrible there is another CS where everything is 99p and its my guilty sin to go in every week......
Oh well got some more BZZZZ stuff to trial so that will be fun and waiting for some survey sites payments to come through so hoping they will come in beofre the end of the month.
May have a weekend in London at end of month v v excited as OH will be there. (and my parents) So thinking of going for lunch somewhere :money: but can cater for a caoliac adn vegan.....ideas?
And its OK first proper visit to London so if it happens want to loads of places.0 -
Shattered properly p@@ped, with the wind blowing a hooley really made cycling difficult, though am always tired by thursday night. Think need some iron tablets so added to list for the weekend.
Got a 50 euro rebate on the house phone contract, not an OP as need to top up kids account.... but sold a battered broken iphone for another 50 so that will go in at the end of the month hurrah - on target so far..... plus end of month will evaluate paypal accounts and move anything above 25 and add that to the OP pot (which should get to be over the magical 310).
OK was going to use a smiley but can't remember now which one I wanted to use or why?!:o
Well hoping this time next month will be mortgage free on the UK house (as it will be sold) so then I can find my dream home with room fo chucks goats donkeys an orchard, suppose the OH as well and my little doggie (who will get some playmates
) huge wish list but we can take it slow to find one, plus can use the savings to top the kids account to where it should be and then we can save normally into there and just OP like mad into the Spanish mortgage.
Still need to win a lottery to buy the houses I fall in love with though:rotfl:
Was going to have a complete  reference OH ex and her money mismanagement but as long as we make sure the kids are not put at a disadvantage or suffer from it and offer her practical help and advice (rather than cold hard cash) I dont know what would solve it - and keep my consicence clear.
anyway everyone have a lovely weekend - and hoping the weather is better than today0 -
Well had my biannual go see the bank manager on Friday just to see what I could do..... With the dreaded sp bank so was not expecting much. When the bank manager said that I could do free international transfers and use my debit card to take money out overseas I almost leapt over the table to hug him.
It means so much easier to overpay the Spanish mortgage and when cottage sells and we find a new home will make that doable too, was not looking forward to having to change banks again.
Must chase up electrical who was doing work on cottage as need all the certificates to get the sale to go through and think they are the only things missing right now.
Bar that not much more on the OP front, the nasty CS had a pound sale again and I have no will power at all.
Also need to get my food bill down and to eat more healthily not that easy when only a microwave and limited or no access to a fridge so if anyone has ideas.....
On the plus get to see OH next weekend as he passes through London for work :T , so they pay for hotel and we get to see London manically planning what to do :money: style. Well would be if the wifi here worked properly as it won't let me use the Internet on laptop right now?
( we tend to see each other three maybe four times a year at the moment so this a bonus )
Reading everyone's diarys makes me more determined to move house in Spain I really want a garden as growing things in pots is a nightmare, plus can't keep chickens where we are and the rate OH goes through eggs they would be a useful addition.
On the plus start a course next week starting to retrain so that next year at least I have some qualifications that are useful in the real world ( as my current qualms are very job specific for what I do)
Hope everyone enjoying the sun and must try and drop comments into all the diarys I read rather than lurking.
Going to do my first womb le now..... Wish me luck.0 -
Really??????????? They told me £25 a go - is your Spanish bank account also with them? Hadn't investigated the debit crd as I use a Halifax Clarity - recommended by :money:, but feels wrong withdrawing cash on a credit card, even if it is the cheapest way to do it :rotfl:.Well had my biannual go see the bank manager on Friday just to see what I could do..... Hope you have a great time in London - if you're on a budget then :kisses2: is cheap

GG you have been talking to my OH who would quite happily walk around holding hands all weekend....:rotfl:or not appearing fomr the room all weekend :blushing::o
I have a ZERO account - the manager said that some counter people wouldn't realise so if you are the same explain to them you have that and to check (as I had been told the £25 as well). Hence normally use credit card as no fees as thats also recommended by :money:.
And no my spanish bank account not with them - dont even go into the decisions in trying to find the best :money: Spanish bank account it takes ages and I get really really .
Hmm other option maybe worth looking into might be the P0 (free as well and possible to get cashback too).0 -

Ah, I have a 123 account. I use Halifax card which gives a great rate. Spanish Bank we went with one recommended when we bought, but they are no more
, now Sabadell, as long as they do online access I'm not too fussed at the mo. Will need to learn Spanish for 'show me the money' when we move out there :rotfl:. A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

Hmm thinking as I cycled in to work this morning how much MSE cycling in and out of work is..
1. Well I don't own a car (in UK) so call that £1000 for buying/MOT/Tax/Insurance - ignoring petrol costs for this.
2. I get regular exercise so no need to join a gym £30/mth
3. I am sooooo shattered every night that too tired for a social life - and sometimes too tired to eat properly so :money:there too.
All a bit tongue in cheek really as although by thursday pm I would rather sleep under my desk at work than cycle back I really enjoy it and will miss it when i move jobs, not overly keen on it being windy but snow, rain or shine I really enjoy it.
Anyway now on to more serious MSE things, our tenant, who was on a temporary contract has been given a weeks notice, and hence given us notice (if we can we will take her weeks notice rather than the month on the contract as if her contract gets renewed we know she would try and rent the flat again). Seen as her original renting was for 4-6 mths and she has been in a year really pleased with this - also pleased as the bathroom that really needs doing now can get done - extra intial outlay BUT its starting to leak and cause more problems which add up to being expensive. Hoping that the 'flat' account has enough in it to budget for this adn anythig else that needs repairing.
So in order to bulk up OP in May (as completed April's target) have some ebaying to do they wont go for much but every penny towards the OP is a penny less in the banks hands......
Have more Bzzz stuff to do - no OP directly from that but actually really enjoy doing them and sometimes they save on our shopping budget.
Need to hit the surveys hard to try and get some more to cash out, and the comping has been poor this year so far, ( a horse first aid kit - saves on a birthday present so good) so need to get back on track with that.
PLus need to get my MB back on the road (mainly to sell) though no intention on being MB less for long just seems practical to get rid of it - I dont really like the bike - its a little heavy for me and OH thinks its too small for his lanky build. (as if I would buy a MB he could use :D) so worth getting rid of as its taking up garage space.
Right just need electrican to reply to emails ref work being done on cottage adn then some dates on exchange etc, but cant exchange until work been done arghhhh!!!!! I want to be MF (on UK cottage) by the summer so I can seriously house hunt when home this summer..... I know not very MFW but will rejig accounts when not if  we find the dream house.0 -
Off on a trip up North for work tonight back tomorrow night and then London Fri night so possibly more spending than saving - though Hotel in London paid mainly by OH work (and we have CB on it) plus meal out with parents so may not be as bad as expected.
OH wombled again - now have a wooden chest to renovate as well as everything else he brings home..... and that includes some right tat:eek:.
need to check my bank statements prior to end of month - have moved paypal for this month - though gone into kids savings rather than OP as have OP target but hadnt added the target to kids, now thats reached anything else will get placed in the OP.
OH just got paid for his mysteryshop in Feb..... hes done about 3 now in the same company and keeps buying the same thing socks.... vile socks:rotfl:at that. But is does pay and is good report writing training so is helping on more than one level - and hopefully that will go in the OP pot at the end of the month.
Have a good couple of days will try and surf if I have access.0 -
Got to see my lovely OH :smileyhea this weekend, but managed to make it quite a MS weekend.
TCB on the hotel, a comp win t@stec@rd helped reduce Fridays posh dinner (which was good as wasnt worth what we paid for it with the reduction!)
And lovely couple of days walking around London in the chilly but nice weather.
However I think we may have found the ONE
. So desperatley want the cottage to sell so we can maybemaybe start the real MF journey on the home for life. (however its just over our budget so I'm trying to think how, if we really love it are we going to be able to afford it:eek:)
I know we should just ignore it, but you never know it may come down in price so its affrordable or when OH visits it it may not be what we think it is.
Almost May hurrah and April OP and kids savings targets met so onwards and upwards. Hoping the fleabay sales help this month as runnig out of ideas - ohh and expecting a survey payout which would be a good sum to go into the OP pot.
Looking forward to moving onwards - a year left yesterday before retiring from this job
love it but means in a year get to see OH and Doggie daily :j 0
