Med summer family holiday help

Been looking at holidays for last few days and its doing my head in.

Not been on a sun holiday for over 15 years.

We are a family of 2 adults, 2 children aged 11 and 13 at time of travel.

Had lots of things going on last few ŷears and want to treat ourselves to a holiday, was thinking of All inclusive, I have been ill and think we all need a break.

Only wanting a week so need decent flight times and also need something not on top of a hill or full of steps due to my mobility problems.

Any ideas where to start looking? Have a budget of up to £2500. Travelling from Manchester or Leeds between 23rd July to 14th Aug.

Lots of all inclusives on all the major travel companies websites for those dates but with it being school holidays, your budget may be a little tight.

First search brought up this one ? Where have you looked so far ?

I have mobility problems too, so I need somewhere flat. I can recommend the following areas, Majorca - Puerto Pollensa, Cala Bona or Portonova. Ibiza -Santa Eulalia, Spain - Costa Brava.
I cannot recommend any AI hotels, because we prefer to go out to local restaurants, but there is plenty of choice in all those places.

I think your budget is manageable for a week, especially if you travel on the 23rd or 24th as most of the schools don't break up until the 25th so you narrowly avoid some of the more expensive flights.

I've seen some pretty decent deals to Majorca, Costa Brava and even Tenerife (although certain areas here are hilly and may not be suitable). I think it all depends on what you want from your hotel.

All Inclusives can vary from being just a hotel serving three meals a day and drinks, to all singing all dancing resorts with everything you could possibly imagine! For your budget you should be able to get a reasonable 3* property with some entertainment and things for the children.

I want something to entertain my boys, not big drinkers but don't want to be worrying about money all the time.

Last time I was in Tenerife it was pesetas and u could get 3 course meal for 1000pta inc a drink! No idea what costs are now.

Seen some places that do s/c upto AI, does that mean u can still take advantage of entertainment ?

Been looking at jet2 etc.

Or would s/c and eating out. Be doable?

Some places do Self Catering up to All Inclusive and yes if they have entertainment etc then anyone can use it.

Everywhere has cheap places to eat out , have a drink etc if you know where to find them. I think in the bigger resorts such as Benidorm, Playa de Las Americas etc there is so much competition that places have to offer good value deals or they just wouldn't get the custom these days. And again in some of the bigger resorts there is a lot of entertainment in the bars so you wouldn't always need to rely on the hotels.

Self catering can be a great option, especially with children as you can always take some things with you for them to eat. If I go self catering I usually go and buy a big box of cereal at the start of the holiday for my daughter and then just fresh bread for us to do breakfasts and lunches if needed. This is relatively cheap but does still involve some cooking and washing up so it depends how relaxing you want it to be!
