Cat has pooed in the tumble dryer!

Hello,
we haven't used the dryer for about 4 days and only today just before using it i noticed one of our cats has pooed in it!
It seems at least 2 days old, have removed as much as i can.
Is there anyway to get the smell out and check it won't go onto clothes?

Cats eh? Was it solid or loose? I'd use biological washing powder solution if you have any. Failing that, wipe off all residue with bleach and then wipe again with clean water and leave the door open for a while. You might then try running it on empty for a few minutes to see if the hot air smells when you open the door.

After cleaning, I would maybe dampen some old clothes with some vinegar and tumbledry them. The vinegar will deodourise, and the dampness will wipe off any residue as it gets tumbled.

I don't 'do' cats and thought it was funny as well, better than doing it in my garden.

Throw the cat in dryer and give it a good tumble, that'll teach it. :rotfl:

One of our cats did a wee in ours once. I dried it up with kitchen towel then gave it a wipe out with an anti bac wipe. Cat poo on suede boots it a chuck in the bin situation( the boots not the cat btw)

You guys don't know the half! this cat often goes in any open appliance, shes been found in the chest freezer before!.
Have vinegared and bleached the dryer, wasn't brave enough to stick my head in for the smell, will trick OH into it.

Thanks everyone! My god the smell was awful when i opened it the first time to put the wet washing in!

    Now I've finished chuckling...

A friend threw a used nappy in with her washing once (it was underneath the pile as her hubby was going to put it in the bin after cleaning!!).

You can imagine the smell / mess. She poured a mixture of bleach, vinegar and some washing powder in the draw and ran it through 3 times. Wouldn't of know the disaster that had hit it afterwards! :)

Many years ago, aged 11, I discovered my cat had pooed in my shoe - as my bare foot slid into it!! I still check my shoes to this day, even though I close the wardrobe doors and store my shoes in their boxes!
