Bailey Ranger touring caravan question

Can you help? My husband has been offered a 2nd hand Bailey Ranger van (4/5 berth) but we can't find out if the cabinet that separates the seats in the lounge is removable...to make a big double bed in the front!
In other makes of caravan it is, but the previous owner only ever used the seats as single (very narrow) beds and we were hoping it could be converted easily into a large double.
Any advice gratefully received!!

I didn't know you could move cabinets, I've learned something. I know in lots of caravans under the cabinet there is a pull out bit which is the support to make up the double bed, the bed should be a good size once you play cushion jigsaw. Both the caravans we have had use the dining table to make up the bed and in our current one we use a memory foam mattress topper for comfort, but we have room to store it.

They are usually on a slider, lift and remove all the cushions and see if the cabinet slides sideways to one side on a runner, the back rests fill the other bitBe happy...;)0

Hi - we have a caravan with a similar set up. We have taken out the drawer chest to make a huge bed (slept 4 comfortably) but its not easy. I couldn't lift it.....hubby can but its too wide to get through door to put out of way so has to sit in middle of floor in front of oven/fridge area. It's too tall to sit under the 'made up' front double (would be excellent if it did - if any caravan designers reading!!).
Was interested to read the 'sliding to the side' post - didn't know this was possible so will be checking this out! If that works then could sleep 3 adults and 1 little one in front of chest.HTH Happy Caravanning!! x0 -
I am sure your not going to buy blind so as you give the van the once over remove cushions and stand back see whats possible . I have heard of fixed beds in a ranger but never a fixed dining table at the end . sure there is a double waiting to come out .. enjoy:cool: hard as nails on the internet . wimp in the real world :cool:0

We have owned a 510/4 and currently own a 550/6 Bailey Ranger Caravan. The two draw cupboard can be removed (there are 4 screws holding it in place) however you don't need to remove this to have the bed set as a double. Underneath the cupboards will be a curved piece off wood which you pull out and it has the slats attached to create the bed as then you move the cushions to create the mattress.
If you need to know anything else just ask.DEBT FREE and not looking backTouring Caravan owner - my home from home

Agree with post #6, no need to move the cupboard, we used to pull the sliding slats out, make the bed into a double by rearranging the seat cushions and sleep across the width of the van.0
