I found www.datingdirect.co.uk was quite good, although I did have some rather wierd experiences and met some peculiar people, but then I also met some great people too and had a whale of a time.
Certainly there's no need to stay in of an evening. (only trouble is that you have to pay to sign up and becuase women get about 300 times more mail than men you do have to be original and persist a bit, plus you have to be thick skinned for all the rejections you get.0 -
My daughter, a Guide leader, recommended www.kckpl.lib.ks.us/YS/CRAFTS to me, and our women's group spent many happy hours making the Mexican paper flowers. No adverts on this site either0

Thanks Kaptain. So you need to be pretty thick skinned then. Think I've had enough rejection for the time being. I tried www.parship.co.uk and www.mysinglefriend.co.uk.
I wouldn't say thet either were a sound investment unless you are looking for a Queen Mother look alike. Still I might look at the one you tried.0 -

I don't know how old you are but for me the 40yr watershed was a bit of a brick wall to start with, that and the 3+ kids category. But I had to laugh, there were people on datingdirect who had pictures of "shall we say politely" themselves looking a little bit younger, want to be harsh a decade younger and had lied about their age. So you need: Thick skin, yes, sense of humour definitely and most important of all, perseverance, that should just about cover it. Try out DD and tell me how you get on.;)0
