Rental Exchange - Experian (Posted To Wrong Place Sorry)

Hi All,
Sorry for posting here, but I couldn't really see where else to post (please move if there is a more suitable place?)
Last year there was talk of the credit reference agencies reporting rental payments. Personally, I think this is a great idea and can only strengthen a persons credit file (If you pay your rent on time, as I do).
I've noticed now that you can request, as a tenant to sign up for this service (I think)
Link below .... Have I read it correctly?
I've sent them a request already.

I doubt it - just a CRA attempting to land-grab new areas of business which it hopes to profit from in the future. Currently their attention is on Councils, whom they are providing data to with the aim of eventual reciprocation where Council will be required to provide all details of late rentals and Council Tax payments, as well as other financial attractions.
As for other rentals za the answer is no. The DPA explicitly prevents the sharing of data unless the data subject agrees (and the merchant subscribes). Since each LL would need to sign up ang agree to provide data, if the bulk of renters refused to - as is their right - then this idea is not going to fly.0
