Thunderbird Vs Windows Live Mail Beta

Simon_B_2

I've been using hotmail for quite some time but it is not possible to download my emails to my computer.
Thunderbird and GMail would let me do this, though Microsoft have just released the new windows live mail desktop in beta.

I prefer using Firefox at is seems to me to be be the better program for surfing the net over IE7. Is this the same for Thunderbird over say windows live mail or outlook which would cost me anyway?

Can't speak for windows live mail, but I have been using thunderbird for over a year and I've found it to be excellant. I particularly like the seperate mailboxes for each account option, though I expect you can do that in ms products.

thanks just put thunderbird on and using on a gmail account that i've setup firefox and thunderbird are running so much smoother than msn products so much happier now.

Is there a product that will simulates msn messenger and can also do the video playback?
