Import tax

Can anyone please explain how this works. I would like to buy some teddies from America, as they are much cheaper even with shipping costs, but I don't want a bad surprise with import tax.

It depends on the value of the item, so ask your seller if they don't mind putting a low value or that the item is a gift. Mind you, how this would work if the item went astray I don't know, and it's probably illegal...

Declaring items bought on Ebay as a gift certainly is illegal and could result in your goods being confiscated
