copy the file to a disk or usb key

You could also try opening the file in Wordpad

Terry's suggestion is a good one, another option is the Microsoft Word Viewer. Download it from here: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=95E24C87-8732-48D5-8689-AB826E7B8FDF&displaylang=en

I'm trying to open an microsoft office page stored on my computer, the computer has microsoft Xp home edition on it.
How ever every time i try to open the page it keeps asking for the OFFICE 2002 product key.

What type of file is it?
What version of Microsoft Office do you have? If it's less than 2002 then you might have to download a converter from microsoft.
Where did you get it from? i.e did you create or get it from someone else?
Have you tried opening on a different pc?

The problem occurs when you have part of office 2002 (office XP) installed after your original install of office 2000 or whatever version. in the past it has usually been when someone has used dsk 2 and installed microsoft publisher it updates some parts of office and screws things up.

You need to uninstall the office 2002 install from add and remove programs in control panel that should fix the problem by reverting everything back to office 2000 or whatever version you have. If it doesnt then uninstall all the office programs then install them from freshagain it wil only take 5-10 minutes.
