SMTP but typed SMPT

Formatted my H/D ( easter spring clean ), re installed all progs , Internet working ( hence posting) can receive email , using Thunderbird.
But as a Virgin Media customer , with a NTL web address have to manually fill in the boxes. Have done it a dozen times!
BUT today I typed SMPT . virginmedia. com
How do I bring up the connection info , to change my bad typing.
Have resorted to uninstalling Thunderbird / Firefox but the progs just use what is already typed.
Must be doing something stupid....can anyone help ?

Tools > Account Options. Scroll down to Outgoing Server (SMTP), highlight the one you need to change and click Edit.How do I add a signature?0
