Confused ?

hi i received a letter from my housing association yesterday which has me a little confused and worried its to do with my standing order i pay them towards my rent each week as im on wtc and receive help towards my rent and c/t ,it says "it has recently re-calculated what i should be paying from April 2013 onwards. As you pay by standing order it will be necessary for you to update your payment details using online banking or by going to your bank" It then goes on to state there account number and sort code and where it says amount it is saying i should be paying the full amount ?? then says you will be responsible for the payment frequency and the date that your payments are made .and the figure in the payment box is based on my previous transactions ??
has anyone else had anything similar ?
i know housing benefit is changing etc and looked on my local councils website to see if the housing benefit will be paid directly to me instead of the housing association but cant find any info and have not had any notification off them to say anything different

Just a couple of questions to try and help.
What is your rent?
What was your HB?
Have you got a spare bedroom? (What are you entitled to as regards your household make up? How many adults? How many children? Ages? Sex? )0 -
hi sorry rent is £82.50 a week housing benefit is about £45 and no spare room i have two bedroom and a 16 yr old girl at f/t college just me and her living in house0

have you perhaps been affected by the change in council tax, which is why you have to pay more now?!January Wins - Gangster Squad Goodies, Sun Lotion
February Wins - Wombles Goody Bag, Ideal Home Show Tickets, Lunch on Cruise Ship
March Wins - 2night family break to legoland, outfit from Kaleidoscope, Iron Cleaning Stck.
2013 aims - Ipad, Iphone, Family Holiday.0 -
Aren't they changing the system from April 1, so that the council pay Housing Benefit directly to you and you have to pay your rent directly to your landlord?
I think this is what is happening in your case."There are not enough superlatives in the English language to describe a 'Princess Coronation' locomotive in full cry. We shall never see their like again". O S Nock0 -
had my council tax bill through other week and getting benefit help with that so i have know idea ? its just a little worrying when something comes through door like this especially over weekend when you cant contact anyone0

poppasmurf i have heard about this change but have not been contacted by housing benefits to tell me this as yet0

I don't think that's happening until October? But some areas it may start early. Are you sure they have your daughter down as a full time student? They could be counting her as a non dependant adult?
Or it could be that they've not applied your housing benefit to the account. Have you called HB to find out? I would imagine that would be your first step.
Are you on any other benefits that would entitle you to full hb?4 Stones and 0 pounds or 25.4kg lighter :j0 -
i know that hb have all the right info as i took all my proofs to them a few weeks ago .and as i said my council tax bill has come through where i have some money taken off due to recieving working tax credits thats only benefits i get0

This change is under Universal Credit, the OP would not be affected by this until April 2014 at the very earliest."You've been reading SOS when it's just your clock reading 5:05 "0
