Vouchers with no expire date

Hiya, I was wondering if anyone can help me..

I have vouchers from Evans Cycles £50 in total where they have been given to be as birthday presents and they do not have an expiry date on them. I have put them aside as didn't need anything from the store so they have been in my kitchen drawer for a few years. I went into the store a few weeks back and they refused to accept them saying they were out of date and they have stopped accepting these vouchers 2 years ago and they have had a notice up in all stores giving people notice to cash them in.

Where do I stand as I haven't been in the store in years, and they don't have any expiry dates on them. I wouldn't mind so much if it was only £5 but I have £50 here and it's alot of money.

Thanks x

email their head office, some companies where they have changed the style of vouchers will send new ones out if you send the old ones in. as you say there is no expiry date so I think they have to sort it out.

I'd say having notice up in stores is an attempt to modify the terms of the contract... and certainly an unfair one at that.

Without an expiry date or valid for notice at point of sale or on the voucher I seriously doubt they could enforce this.

As the vouchers were not purchased by the OP I don't see how they can claim its modifying the terms of the contract. They never entered into any contract.

Okay modifying the terms of the contract with the original purchaser.

Op whoever bought you them may have to take it up with the store if they don't offer you any kind of remedy, my above comments still the same just with original purchaser
