Radiator leaking

I have come down this morning and found that their is water on the wall beneath my radiator in my living room. I am assuming i have a leak. I am just wondering if this is something I will need to call an emergency plumber out for or if i can put a plastic bag and towls down and leave it until next week, as the cost of calling a plumber out on easter sunday does not bear thinking about.
Also am i best leaving my heating off in this situation? i do have a gas fire in my living room so i wont need to freeze. I just dont want to make it worse.
Any advise greatly appreciated!

Can you close the valves off both ends of the rad?I am a mortgage adviser. You should note that this site doesn't check my status as a Mortgage Adviser, so you need to take my word for it. If its a hole in the radiator, if you turn both valves off & put a bowl under the leak, it will stop leaking eventually.0

There is a lovely bit of kit I picked up from the local plumbing merchants which is effectively a silicone bowl which clips round the pipe. Any drips go into the bowl. Very useful for draining radiators.
You can also buy this emergency plumbing mastic stuff - it's two part, you mix it together and ram it over the leaking joint - it sets hard as rock and can occasionally work - I've not had the best results with it.Tim0 -
Only one way, FIND THE LEAK AND GET IT REPAIRED PROPERLY
