Tethering Ipad Mini

Looking at purchasing an Ipad mini wifi, as I would only need occasional 3g use. Have heard that I can tether Ipad to Iphone 4.

Would like to know if its easy to do and what the pro's and con's are?

I would also welcome some advice re charges, currently on Virgin with 1gb per month (which is more than adequate) but unsure if tethering is taken from this or an additional extra charge.

£100 extra for an Ipad mini with 3g seems a lot for occasional use.

Well do virgin allow tethering ? If they do ( I think they allow it ) then the 1GB is your allowance whether its all tethering or not.

The 1GB allowance will include all aspects of internet usage. Tethering your iPad mini to your I4 will use this 1GB allowance.

It's straightforward to do. Just enable personal hotspot on the iphone, and then you can find it on the list of wifi networks via the iPad.

I would check with Vodafone to see if tethering is allowed. I tether my iPad to my iPhone when away from home, granted my provider allows it and I have unlimited usage.

Another thing to note - it will drain your iPhone battery quite quickly, so bring your charger along on your travels!
