Hi all, a formal Warning has now been lodged against the Caveat via the Probate Service.

Can anyone confirm if the Caveator has 8 working days or 8 calendar days to respond ?

Managed to establish that the Caveator has 8 CALENDAR days to respond to a formal Warning off, so that will take us to end of play tomorrow.

I really can't see how any solicitor woud advise his client to take such a case to court though. The deceased was of sound mind when he made the will and not unduly influenced, the will is valid, correctly signed and witnessed, and made some years ago. The deceased's sister does not fit into any of the six categories of people who can contest a will, plus the deceased made substantial provision for his sister within his will without needing to.

Surely taking such a 'case' to court runs a massively high risk of the deceased's sister losing out and becoming liable for all costs, potentially wiping out her beneficiary sum entirely?
